Government House and the Stories of St. Augustine
August 17, 2015 - October 23, 2015
Smathers Library Gallery, 2nd Floor
Government House has had many incarnations, including a governor’s mansion, a customs house, a court house, a post office, and as a venue for exhibitions and public events. With its central location adjacent to the Plaza on St. George Street, Government House is uniquely situated to tell many stories about the city’s history, from Spanish and British colonial life to the Civil War and Civil Rights marches.
Curated by Matt Armstrong, Tom Caswell, Jim Cusick, and John Nemmers
