The 1935 copy of the Berliner Gemeindeblatt (Berlin newsletter) reveals a change in format from the 1932 edition (featured above) to a larger-scale paper with a three-column layout. This edition is lavishly illustrated in celebration of the 800th anniversary of Maimonides’ birth and features articles about his life, philosophy, works and manuscripts by known Jewish rabbis and scholars. This issue also includes many notices about community organizations and events, as well as more than four densely packed pages of local business and community advertisements.
